石獅(stone lion)是中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)建筑中常見的裝飾，于漢朝(the Han Dynasty)傳入中國(guó)。在中國(guó)文化中，獅子被當(dāng)成神獸。所以人們喜歡在戶院大門前擺放石獅來驅(qū)邪，并且擺放的位置是相對(duì)固定的。根據(jù)傳統(tǒng)，門前擺放的石獅應(yīng)為一對(duì)，雄獅在左而雌獅在右。石獅的外表各有不同。從整體上看，北方的獅子比較簡(jiǎn)單，而南方的獅子更生動(dòng)。
