Assistant/Associate Professor of Composition and Theory
    Soochow University (Suzhou, China) invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Composition and Theory in its newly established School of Music. Responsibilities include: teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in composition, theory, orchestration, and advising graduate student composers. Develop courses in secondary areas such as film, electronic music, music technology, multimedia, tonal and post-tonal theory, etc. Other duties may be assigned depending on the candidate’s qualifications and departmental needs.

    A successful candidate will be an outstanding composer with significant contribution to the field and will help to develop a unique composition program in China through curriculum design, recruiting, and engaging public performances. Demonstrated excellence in teaching desired. Earned Ph.D. or DMA required (ABD considered though degree must be completed by August 1, 2016). All courses are taught in English.
