魯智深打死惡霸鎮(zhèn)關(guān)西后，怕吃官司，逃往他低。他先來(lái)到五臺(tái)山文殊院出家，因不守佛規(guī)，喝酒鬧事，方丈又把他介紹到大相國(guó)寺看菜園子。菜園子附近住著二、三十個(gè)潑皮，他們常來(lái)菜園子偷菜，已換了幾個(gè)看園子的人都管不了他們。這次聽說(shuō)有換了個(gè)新人，便來(lái)鬧事，沒想到被魯智深把兩個(gè)領(lǐng)頭的踢到糞坑里，嚇得他們跪地求饒。第二天，潑皮們買些酒菜向魯智深賠禮。大家正吃得高興，聽到門外大樹上的烏鴉叫個(gè)不停，潑皮們說(shuō)這叫聲不吉利，吵的人心煩，便欲搬梯子拆掉鳥巢。魯智深上前把那棵樹上下打量了一下說(shuō)："不用了，帶我把樹拔掉。"說(shuō)完，只見他脫掉外衣，用左手向下?lián)ё涓?，右手把住樹的上半截，腰往上一挺，那棵樹竟然連根拔起。眾潑皮驚得個(gè)個(gè)目瞪口呆，忙跪在地上拜魯智深為師。

《聊齋志異》中的故事。太原王生，早晨出門遇見一位年輕漂亮的女子，便把她帶回家，藏在書房。女子告訴他，對(duì)誰(shuí)也不要說(shuō)這件事。一天，王生外出碰見一老道，老道見王忙問：“你最近遇到什么了?”王生撒謊說(shuō)：“什么也沒遇見?！崩系勒f(shuō)：“你身上一股妖氣，你的血快被妖精吸干了?！蓖跎氐郊依?，隔窗往書房?jī)?nèi)看去，只見一猙獰厲鬼，正用一支彩筆畫人皮，聽到人的聲音后，又忙把人皮往身上一披，立刻變作一位美麗的少女，王生嚇得魂飛魄散，拔腿就跑。厲鬼趕上，拉住王生，挖出了他的心。王生妻子陳氏，親眼看到丈夫被害，悲痛欲絕，她急忙找到道士，跪地哀求道士救她丈夫。老道為考驗(yàn)陳氏救夫的決心，百般戲弄陳氏，并從口中吐出東西讓陳氏吃。陳氏一心想救丈夫，什么都忍受了，道士見狀哈哈大笑而去。陳氏一到家里，撫著丈夫的尸體大哭，在抱尸收斂時(shí)，她突然嘔吐，所食東西一下子從口中飛出，落入丈夫腔中，丈夫慢慢地蘇醒過(guò)來(lái)。

《聊齋志異》中的故事。安家有兄弟中安大成娶陳珊瑚為妻。珊瑚人品出眾，人民生活水平情嫻淑。大成母沈氏性格暴燥，為人兇狠，對(duì)珊瑚非打即罵。珊瑚忍氣吞聲，從無(wú)怨言。后來(lái)，婆婆竟逼大成休掉珊瑚。珊瑚走后，沈氏想給大成另娶，因大成母惡名遠(yuǎn)揚(yáng)，無(wú)人敢嫁。后來(lái)，沈氏給二成娶妻臧姑。她比沈氏更加兇悍。沈氏每每看臧姑的臉色辦事，稍不小心，沈氏便會(huì)遭到臧姑的責(zé)罵。二成天生懦弱，也不敢管，致使沈氏操勞過(guò)度成疾，只好請(qǐng)來(lái)姐姐服侍自己。沈氏見每天都有姐姐家人送好飯菜來(lái)給自己吃，嘆道：“我要有姐姐這樣的好兒媳就好了!”沈氏病好之后，住在姐姐家，總夸姐姐的兒媳婦好。后來(lái)姐姐說(shuō)：“珊瑚對(duì)你多好，你總打罵她。告訴你中以，你病中吃的好東西，都是珊瑚紡線賺錢買來(lái)做給你吃的。這樣的好媳婦，你到哪去找呀!”沈氏聽了后，倍覺羞愧，邊哭邊說(shuō)：“是我對(duì)不起珊瑚呀!”這時(shí)，珊瑚從后邊屋里跑出來(lái)，跪在婆婆面前。沈氏非常后悔，捶胸頓足。后來(lái)，歷經(jīng)磨難，二成的媳婦也痛改前非，全家五口，又和和美美地生活在一起了。
