How do overseas visitors view Beijing, whether it be the egg-shaped National Center for the Performing Arts contrasted with the four-square Great Hall of the People? What about the cool architecture of the Olympic's main venue, the "Bird's Nest"? Let's look in on an exhibition by two German photographers.

At the Chinese Cultural Center, in Berlin, is the exhibition, "Beijing Gears up for the Olympics." People come here to develop perspectives before heading off to China for their own Olympics experience. The two Germans reveal their perspectives of Beijing through seventy five photos. The photos were shot during a three week visit that began in May. Much of what they captured on film revealed the enthusiasm of Chinese people toward the Olympics.

A collection of calligraphy, paintings and photographs celebrating the Olympics is on show in the main hall of the central committee of the China Zhi Gong Party. There are more than a hundred works on display. They are the expressions of artists from ten provinces of China and from Chinese living in the US, France, Japan and Indonesia. The exhibition is dedicated to the Olympic Games and to those still struggling to recover from the Sichuan earthquakes.
