近義詞---Wait,Await
Wait(v.)----“等候”，“等待”。指某事發(fā)生之前停留在原地，不采取行動(dòng)。
通常此詞作為不及物動(dòng)詞而和for連用。
Await(v.)----“等候”，“期待”。書面語。特指對(duì)于斷定必來的人或事的不斷的期待。后接受詞。
例：We can wait here until he comes.
我們可以在此地等候他來。
How long have you been waiting?
你等多久了？
How long have you been waiting for me ?
你等我多久了？
We are anxiously awaiting your reply .
我們正焦急地等候你的來臨。
She was at the door awaiting him.
她在門口等候他。

Wither(v.)----“枯萎”，“凋謝”。指因無活力而失去生氣。
Fade(v.)----“凋謝”，“褪色”。多指顏色的逐漸消失，有時(shí)也作“暗淡”講。

Her hopes withered.
她的希望漸漸幻滅了。
Will this color fade？
