范文
Someone who sticks out my mind from when I was young, is a monitor who was
in 3rd grade with me. In our school a monitor is a kid who is chosen by the
teachers to be a kind of prefect or given authority to help others or to
maintain the rules.
I met the monitor when I was at the water fountain because he was filling
up bottles to hand out to the other kids. He roped me into helping him deliver
the water and I actually found this act to be very rewarding and fun. I also
remember a day when he stood up to the school bully and protected another boy
from a beating. Although the monitor was quite small, he had the heart of a
lion.
We became bosom buddies and did pretty much everything together. We’d hang
out before, during, and even after school and did everything together. I
was really sad when one day he told me his family were moving away. About
three weeks later he left, and I never saw him again.
The monitor changed the way I perceived life and others through his acts of
kindness and generosity. It made me feel good about myself when I could make
others happy. He was a real salt of the earth character, full of the milk of
human kindness and love.
