Ⅰ. fast “快”一般指物體的運(yùn)動(dòng)速度(speed)快，常用來(lái)形容交通工具跑得快，鐘表走得快，人的動(dòng)作快等。如：
① A car goes faster than a truck. 小汽車(chē)比卡車(chē)跑得快。
② How fast the horse runs! 這匹馬跑得多快呀!
Ⅱ. quick 指較短的時(shí)間或較近的將來(lái)即可發(fā)生或完成某事，常用來(lái)形容動(dòng)作敏捷、反應(yīng)迅速。如：
① Come quick! 快來(lái)呀!
② Please give me a quick reply. 請(qǐng)迅速給我答復(fù)。
Ⅲ. rapid 表速度之快，往往可與fast通用，但它多指運(yùn)動(dòng)本身。如：
① The boy is making rapid progress. 這孩子進(jìn)步很快。
② Rapid speech is usually indistinct. 急促的語(yǔ)言往往不清晰。
③ The current was rapid. 水流得很急。
Ⅳ. swift 表速度很快而又常指運(yùn)動(dòng)平穩(wěn)而不費(fèi)力。如：
① Eagles are swift in flight. 鷹飛得很快。
② The curent was very swift. 水流得很快。
