Ⅰ. socks 指不到膝蓋的“短襪”如：

Ⅱ. stockings 指到膝蓋或過膝蓋的“長襪”。 如：
① She bought a pair of silk stockings. 她買了一雙長絲襪。
① He bought a pair of nylon socks. 他買了一雙尼龍襪。
