education plays a very important role in the development of china . as is k nown to all , china has the la rgest population in the world and most of them live in the countryside . since the economic condition s there are ra ther poor , many families , especially in the remote ar eas , can not afford to send their children to school , many children have to drop f rom school . the “ project hope”is aimed at solving this problem so that every child of school age can r eceive r egular education .
the“ project hope”mainly depends on the cont ributions of the urban people and overseas chinese who care about the development of china ’s education . t he cont ributed money will be dist ribut ed by“ project hope”council to the countryside to help the children who cannot afford the education . one hundred yuan will help such a child finis h his primary education
“ project hope”i a good way to promot e the education in the rur al areas , but it is fa r from being sufficient . by now, only a small por tion of the children benefit f rom it . t he refore ,i suggest that gove rnment at all levels and people of all walks of life pay mor e at tention to the problem and do much more to help r aise the educational level of the country .
