where you would like to do it
and explain how you would feel at the end of the day.
I’m usually so busy at work that I spend my days off wearing comfortable clothes and chilling out on the sofa, watching TV. But I suppose if I really put some thought into it, I could have a much more productive and exciting day off.
I’ve always intended to visit some of the tourist attractions in the city I live in, Beijing. It’s funny how you can put off seeing attractions that are right on your doorstep, as you just think that there’s no rush, they’ll always be there. Despite living here for many years, there are so many places I’ve never gotten round to visiting. I’m not just talking about big tourist draws like the Forbidden City, but also lesser-known places, such as the Olympic Forest Park.

It wouldn’t be much fun on my own, I get bored of my own company very easily, so ideally I would spend the day with my best friend. I think she’s also not been to a lot of local attractions, so we’re both in the same boat. I think if I planned it, we’d follow a line north, starting at Tiananmen and finishing at the Forest Park. I could see Chairman Mao’s mausoleum, then go to the Forbidden City, Houhai lake and finally walk around the Olympic park. At the end of the day I’m sure I’d feel exhausted, but it would be worth it. All the excitement and a long day of walking around in the sun can really take it out of you. I’d probably still end up in my comfy clothes, chilling out on the sofa!
