V:No,thank you.I'm just going upstairs to see a friend.
客人:不，謝謝。我正要上樓去看一個朋友。
R:We must announce visitors to our guests.
接待員:我們必須要通知我們的客人。
May I have the guest's name,please?
請問您找哪位客人？
V:Roger Whitestead.
客人:羅杰。懷特斯德。
R:Just a moment,please...Hello,Mr.Whitestead?
接待員:請稍等。您好，懷特斯德先生嗎？
G:Yes?
旅客:什么事？
R:This is Reception.
接待員:這是前臺接待。
There's somebody here to see you./You have a visitor.
有人想去拜訪您/有您一位客人。
Just a moment,please...(hands the phone to the visitor)...
請稍等，......（把電話遞給來訪者）......
(to visitor when call is finished) Thank you.
(當(dāng)來訪者打完電話）謝謝。
V:No problem.
客人:沒關(guān)系。

R:...I'm sorry,there's no answer./I'm sorry,Mr.Whitestead isn't in.
接待員:......對不起，沒有人接。/抱歉， 懷特斯德先生不在。
Would you like to leave a message for him?
您給他留言好嗎？
V:Yes,thanks.Do you have a piece of paper I could use?
客人:是的，謝謝。這里有沒有一張紙給我用一下呢？
R:Certainly,here you are.
接待員:當(dāng)然，給您。
V:Okay.Do you have an envelope?
客人:好的，你這兒有信封嗎？
R:I'm afraid not.Would a piece of scotch tape do?
接待員:恐怕沒有。透明膠帶可以嗎？
V:Okay.
客人:可以。

第三課 客人回來了
R:Excuse me,Mr.Whitestead?
接待員:對不起，懷特斯德先生。
G:Yes?
旅客:什么事？
R:While you were out a friend of yours came by to see you.
接待員:當(dāng)您出去的時候您的一個朋友來拜訪您，
He left a note for you.Here you are.
他給您留言了一張紙條。給您。

Visitors after 11:00 p.m
晚上11點以后的拜訪
R:(after announcing visitor to guest) Thank you.
接待員:（通知客人有人拜訪之后）謝謝。
And could you please fill out this form before you go upstairs?
在上樓之前您填寫一下這張表格好嗎？
V:Why?I've never had to fill in a form before!
客人:為什么？我以前從來沒有填過。
R:It's because it's after 11:00 p.m..
接待員:因為已經(jīng)超過晚上11:00了。
V:This is a bit much,really.
客人:這真是太煩瑣了。
R:I'm sorry,I understand.
接待員:非常抱歉，我可以理解，
But I'm afraid we're required to do this by the Public Security Bureau.
可是公安局要求我們這樣做的。
It's not a regulation of T.I.B.;I hope you understand.
