第24課 A Skeleton in the Cupcoard

3、 The reader’s hair stands on end when he reads in the final pages ofthe novel that he heroine, a dear old lady who had always been so kind to everybody, had, in her youth, poisoned every one of her five husbands.

注意vary詞的意思。

6、 Dropping my suit, I dashed downstairs to tell George.

劃線(xiàn)處的Ving用法，dash比rush表達(dá)更加快速和突然，很好地證明了前面的petrified
