汕頭大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)院神經(jīng)科學(xué)中心是在國際知名學(xué)者M(jìn)elitta Schachner教授領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下的一個(gè)高水平實(shí)驗(yàn)室。Melitta Schachner教授是德國科學(xué)院院士,現(xiàn)任德國漢堡大學(xué)分子神經(jīng)生物學(xué)中心主任,美國Rutgers大學(xué)教授,是世界杰出神經(jīng)生物學(xué)家、德國功勛科學(xué)家,從事神經(jīng)科學(xué)研究40余年,在Cell,Nature,Science,Nature Neuroscience,Nature Genetics,Nature Cell Biology,Brain, Glia, J.Neuroscience等雜志已發(fā)表重要論文800余篇,擔(dān)任數(shù)十家學(xué)術(shù)雜志審稿人。汕頭大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)院神經(jīng)科學(xué)中心得到汕頭大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)院和李嘉誠基金會(huì)的大力支持,擁有先進(jìn)的儀器設(shè)備,如凝膠成像系統(tǒng)、全功能連續(xù)波長(zhǎng)微孔板檢測(cè)儀、MBF體視細(xì)胞學(xué)計(jì)數(shù)系統(tǒng)、實(shí)驗(yàn)動(dòng)物行為學(xué)分析系統(tǒng)、雙光子激光共聚焦顯微鏡等,為科研人員提供了一個(gè)高水準(zhǔn)的實(shí)驗(yàn)平臺(tái)。
本中心致力于神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)疾病基礎(chǔ)研究及臨床轉(zhuǎn)化實(shí)驗(yàn)研究。主要研究方向有: 1. 應(yīng)用猴子帕金森病模型研究神經(jīng)粘附分子L1對(duì)受損神經(jīng)元的拯救作用;   
2. 應(yīng)用轉(zhuǎn)基因小鼠對(duì)神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)退行性病變?nèi)缗两鹕膊。柎暮D『秃嗤㈩D病進(jìn)行機(jī)制性探索; 3. 應(yīng)用斑馬魚脊髓損傷模型研究神經(jīng)再生機(jī)制; 4. 利用噬菌體展示技術(shù)進(jìn)行抗體篩選制備、目的分子協(xié)同劑和拮抗劑的篩選制備等。
