搭配3：習(xí)慣上不接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)作賓語。如：
我擔心他會失敗。
誤：I fear him to fail.
正：I fear that he will fail.
搭配4：比較 fear sb 與 fear for sb：前者意為害怕某人，后者意為為某人擔心。如：
He fears his wife. 他怕他老婆。
He fears for his wife. 他為他老婆擔心。

搭配5：for fear of 意為“由于怕……”“以防……”。如：
