Immediate part time Internship opportunity with SMC Capital China, a leading Asian/China investment firm
SMC Capital China (“SMC3”) is part of Hong Kong based Simon Murray Group (“SMG”). Established in 1997 by Mr. Simon Murray, the former CEO of Hutchison Whampoa and Executive Chairman of Deutsche Bank Asia, SMG is one of the longest running and most prominent private equity and alternative asset investment firms in China and Asia.
SMC3 leads SMGs China growth capital private equity investments from its Shanghai headquarters with both USD and RMB-denominated funds. SMC3 aims to be the leading international private equity manager with a nationwide presence via partnership RMB funds with Chinese local governments and strategic partners. We currently have joint venture funds and local teams established in Wuxi and Dalian and aim to grow to more cities in the coming years. SMC3s three core investment spaces are environmental protection & energy saving, consumer & healthcare, and IT & advanced manufacturing with focus on expansion stage firms. Our partnership team consists mainly of experienced operations executives and domain experts from these three industries.
SMC3 is hiring a number of interns to support our growth in our Shanghai office:
Requirements:
Fully bilingual in English and Mandarin
MBA or other advanced degree candidates from top schools
Strong secondary research skills, effectively indentify key information and industry trend
Strong primary research skills, effective interview skills to understand market dynamics
Strong analytical skills to assess and explain market trends and events, plus excellent verbal and written communications skills
Problem solving skills and the ability to think independently
Candidates with energy/environmental, agriculture and consumer backgrounds will be preferred
Candidates looking for a long term employment with the company right after the internship will be preferred
Shanghai permanent residence will be preferred
Third-year undergrad or first-year masters students preferred
Duration: Minimum commitment of 6 months, minimum 3 days a week. Full time opportunity offered to strong performer after internship
