Title: SW/Firmware engineer Intern
Job Description:
The Silicon Design and Validation team of Intel Architecture Group is looking
for a highly motivated and skilled graduating Graduate Degree software/hardwar
e/firmware engineer to join our engineering team working on next generation Me
dia Processing Component platforms and future System On Chip core processors.
In this position, you will be working with multiple partners and stakeholders
in the US and APAC regions. Your responsibilities will increase from entry le
vel and working towards these professional expectations:
– Silicon validation and system validation on hardware boards and running deb
ug software/firmware.
– Take ownership on SoC silicon module debug, such as in USB/GPU/Audio/Video
modules…etc.
– Communicate with multiple Geo silicon design and silicon validation teams o
n sighting debug and status update.(US, Malaysia, India)
– Execute SV test plans and provide progress indicators and results in a time
ly manner.
– Provide technical support on deployed development platforms and reference d
esigns;.
– Work with experienced SV engineers to map out test plans, test procedures,
execute tests, collect data with disciplined and detail oriented mentality.
– Develop Linux driver code, develop low level BIOS like firmware, debug modu
le specific Linux drivers or test code.
Qualification:
Candidate must be graduating with a Graduate Degree in Electronics Engineering
or SW Engineering Degree with tendency towards hardware hands on desire.
Additional qualifications include:
– Excellent problem analysis and problem solving skills.
– Some experience in Linux OS, Linux Kernel, Linux driver a plus. Or strong d
esire to learn in this area a plus.
– Experience in C, assembly language, data structure and algorithm.
– Some or good experience in application and device driver development under
Linux, BIOS or boot loader
– Knowledge in one or more hardware interface, such as USB, eMMC, SATA, GBE,
PCIe, HDMI, Nand, Nor, I2C, GPIO…etc.
– Knowledge in IA CPU/MCH/ICH & SOC architecture. System knowledge in Set-Top
-Box design and platforms hardware architecture would be an added advantage.
– Ability to own and drive resolution of technical issues.
– Ability to multi-task, time slice, and work in a dynamic multi-geographical
environment.
– Take steps to demonstrate written and fluent verbal English communication s
kills before being accepted as a full time employee.
– Not afraid to ask questions, point out problems, and discuss with team for
solutions; not wait till the due day to say you have a problem.

– Requires full time internship, 5 days a week.
