The Beijing research center, which primarily services the Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong offices of global investment banks, was established in 2009 and is undergoing rapid expansion.
Opportunity
Copal is expanding its Beijing research centre, and is looking for a highly motivated individual to help manage its investment banking platform. Daily activities would include:
- Discussing research projects with clients
- Structuring work
- Managing delivery teams (ensuring deadlines are met, improving efficiency, etc.)
- Conducting quality control on deliverables
- Training junior staff
- Performing the more complex research tasks (for example: complex financial models, senior management interviews, developing storyboards for presentations)
- Delivering work to client and discussing feedback
Specific deliverables include:
- Company profiles / reports
- Industry and capital market newsletters
- Financial analysis
- Trading comps
- Transaction comps
- Industry reports
- Thematic studies
- Capital structure analyses
- Financial benchmarking
- Technical Chinese-English/English-Chinese translation
Location

Required Background
- Complete fluency in written and verbal Mandarin & English language
- Previous investment banking experience required
- Top academic credentials
- Technical skills
o Must have strong written/verbal and quantitative skills

o Good grasp of business concepts
o Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
