吟詩誦句學(xué)英語

字號:

很多人認(rèn)為,高中生的英語閱讀能力和詞匯量有限,英語文學(xué)作品對于他們而言有相當(dāng)?shù)碾y度。但是別忘了,現(xiàn)在有很多高中生都參加了中高口考試,甚至取得了商務(wù)英語證書。對于學(xué)了10年劍橋英語的他們,讀一首英語詩歌真的有那么難嗎?
    這里,小編就為大家提供一首英語詩歌,供大家學(xué)習(xí)鑒賞。
    The Blind Boy
    O say what is this thing call’d light,
    Which I must ne’er enjoy;
    What are the blessings of the sight,
    O tell your poor blind boy!
    You talk of wondrous things you see,
    You say the sun shines bright;
    I feel him warm, but how can he
    Or make it day or night?
    這里的的him和he指太陽,擬人化表達。
    But how can he/Or make it day or night?:與前句重復(fù)部分省略:but how can he(shine bright);Or (how can he)make it day or night?
    My day or night myself I make
    Whene’ er I sleep or play;
    And could I ever keep awake
    With me’ twere always day.
    為了押韻或其他詩歌效果,英語詩中經(jīng)常用倒裝。My day or night myself I make是倒裝句,正常句式為:I make my day or night myself.
    Could I ever keep awake:=if I could ever keep awake,虛擬語氣,“我要是能一直醒著的話”
    With me’ twere always day.對我而言永遠是白天?!痶were=it were,虛擬語氣,表示與事實不符的假設(shè)。
    With heavy sighs I often hear
    You mourn my hapless woe;
    But sure with patience I can bear
    A loss I ne’er can know.
    You mourn my hapless woe;“你哀嘆我的不幸與苦惱”;英語中有些詞匯多用于詩歌,一般不用再其他在其他場合,如hapless(=unfortuneate),還有后面的whilst(=while)
    But sure with patience I can bear:sure是副詞,=surely;這一行是倒裝,正常語序為:I can surely bear with patience…
    Then let not what I cannot have
    My cheer of mind destroy;
    Whilst thus I sing, I am a king,
    Although a poor blind boy.
    Then let not what I cannot have: let not=don’t let.英語詩歌中常用“動詞+not”直接構(gòu)成否定式,如tell me not=do not tell me…
    My cheer of mind destroy:倒裝句,正常語序是:destroy my cheer of mind,“摧毀我心中的歡樂”
    Although a poor blind boy:省略句,完整句是:Although I’m a poor blind boy.
