Jet was especially enjoying his day today-the fragrant flowers, the blue sky and the green grass-everything seemed right. Today would be fruitful, he thought-this would be the day that he would fulfill his place in the galaxy of racing heroes. The biggest race of his career would be this very evening, and although he knew that is was a gamble, he had everything to gain and nothing to lose. So far in his career, his quest for a victory had been futile and many people claimed that he was a fraud. He was frustrated by the frowns of people who had walked past him during the frequent losses in all of his previous races. When he had been younger, people had made such a fuss over him because his mother and father had both been extremely good runners, and it was expected that he would have a very fruitful career as well. He knew that he had the fundamental skills for winning a race, but the gap between his racing performances and the expectations that were placed upon him was huge. To win today’s big race, he would have to reach a higher gear and push himself further than he ever had before. He knew that winning this race would further his career immensely.

The crowd let out a gasp as he crossed the finish line for ahead of all of the others. Now, he heart felt truly happy and gay-he had won the biggest race of his career!
