英文表達(dá)中經(jīng)常會(huì)用到一些數(shù)字，如：twos and threes, at sixes and sevens, sixth sense等等，用數(shù)字表達(dá)含義簡(jiǎn)短精練，但在將這些數(shù)字表達(dá)譯成中文時(shí)，并非“英文中是幾，中文就譯成幾”，情況恰好相反，在將這些表達(dá)翻譯成中文時(shí)，常常會(huì)用到“不等值翻譯”、“不譯”的方法。具體說來，可分為以下三種情況。其中涉及的一些常用說法也可供大家學(xué)習(xí)參考。
（1）等值翻譯
a drop in the ocean 滄海一粟
within a stone's throw 一步之遙
kill two birds with one stone 一箭雙雕
（2）不等值翻譯
at sixes and sevens 亂七八糟
on second thoughts 再三考慮
by ones and twos 三三兩兩地，零零落落地
Two heads are better than one.三個(gè)臭皮匠勝過諸葛亮。
--Can you come down a little? 你能便宜一點(diǎn)賣嗎
--Sorry, its one price for all.對(duì)不起，不二價(jià)。
（3）不必譯出
One man’ s meat is another man’ s poison.人各有所好。
I'll love you three score and ten.我會(huì)一輩子愛你的。
Ten to one he has forgotten it．很可能他已經(jīng)忘了。
His mark in math is second to none in the class. 他的數(shù)學(xué)分?jǐn)?shù)在班上是名列前茅的。
She is a second Lei Feng. 她是雷鋒式的人物。
I always believe my sixth sense. 我總相信我的直覺。
The parson officially pronounced that they became one.牧師正式宣告他們成婚。
I used to study in France in the year one. 我早年曾在法國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)。
