tolerable，tolerant
    二者都是動詞tolerate的派生詞，但涵義及用法都不同。
    Tolerable的意思是“可容忍的”、“尚好的”或“尚可的”（that can be tolerated of fairly good）。例：
    Your blunders are not tolerable．
    你的過失是不可容忍的。
    He is in tolerable health．
    他的健康尚好。
    He has tolerable income in Hong Kong．
    他在香港的收入還不錯。
    Tolerant的意思是“容忍的”、“寬大的”或“寬容的”（having or showing tolerance）。表示“容忍”之意時，tolerable反映被動的意味；tolerant則是主動的意味。例：
    We should not adopt a tolerant attitude towards those loan sharks．
    對于那些大耳窿，我們不應(yīng)該采取寬大的態(tài)度。
    He is tolerant of your errors．
    他能寬容你的錯誤。
    tolerant的相對名詞為tolerance，指容忍的態(tài)度；tolerate的相對名詞為toleration，指容忍的行為。例：
    Her toleration of his brazen attitude is enough to show her great tolerance．
    她容忍了他厚顏無恥的態(tài)度，足以顯示她的寬容。
