    Part II:句法
    段落1
I’m a bookkeeper. I have a good job, and I like my coworkers so much. We’re like a family here:we know all about each other. We share all the happy news and the sad things too. I think I could write a soap opera from what I hear every day. In fact, I’ve always dreamed of doing that—writing a soap opera and telling the stories of everyday people.
    段落2
I studied English in China, but unfortunately, I didn’t study very hard. So when I went to Canada at the age of 25, I hardly spoke any English at all.
At first I lived with other Chinese and spoke Chinese most of the time. One day I was doing my laundry and I needed some coins to put into the washing machine so that it would get started. The only person there was a young Canadian woman. When I spoke to her in my broken English, she answered me in Chinese. She was studying it at college.
Well, it was love at first sight. We got married two years later, and we’ve done our laundry together ever since. Now I speak English much better—almost as well as my 5-year-old son.
