1.概述
大多數(shù)地名不用冠詞，但也有很多的地名必須要加上冠詞，這與地名的構(gòu)成有關(guān)，也與習(xí)慣有關(guān)。
2.用法指南
1.自然界中的一些地理名稱大多要加the，例如：河流、湖泊、運(yùn)河、海洋、海峽、沙漠、山脈。
河流：the Yellow River黃河the Nile尼羅河
湖泊：the West Lake西湖the Great Lakes五大湖
運(yùn)河：the Panama Canal巴拿馬運(yùn)河
海洋：the Pacific太平洋the Atlantic大西洋
海峽：the English Channel英吉利海峽
沙漠：the Sahara撒哈拉大沙漠
山脈：the Rocky Mountains洛基山脈
2.只有一個(gè)詞的國家名，一般不加冠詞。
China中國France法國Russia俄羅斯Brazil巴西
3.由普通名詞構(gòu)成，或含有普通名詞的國名或地名前須加the.
the United Kingdom聯(lián)合王國
the United States美國
the People’s Republic of China中華人民共和國
the United Nations聯(lián)合國

1.一周中的七天，一年中的月份不用冠詞。
We have Mr. Lee’s class on Wednesday.
我們周三有李先生的課。
Christmas Day is on 25th of December.
圣誕節(jié)是12月25日。
2.節(jié)日不用加冠詞。
Easter復(fù)活節(jié)National Day國慶節(jié)
但如果節(jié)日中有festival，通常須加上冠詞。
the Spring Festival春節(jié)
3.四季名稱可加the，也可以不加the，但是在in the fall中的the不能省略。
Spring/The spring comes earlier this year.
春天今年來得早一些。
4.last+表示時(shí)間的名詞不加冠詞。
last Wednesday上個(gè)星期三last week上周last month上個(gè)月
last year去年last century上個(gè)世紀(jì)
5.下列表示時(shí)間的詞與介詞at連用時(shí)不加冠詞。
at noon在正午at night在夜里at midnight在午夜
