A 2-year post-doctoral position in microbiology and proteomics will be open in October or November 2008 at the recently established Centre for Integrative Biology (CIBIO – http://www.unitn.it/cibio/) at the University of Trento. The project is aimed at the characterization of outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) in the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Main project steps include the construction of mutant strains with an OMV-releasing phenotype, characterization of the vesicles by mass spectrometry, and testing for immunogenicity and protection in an animal model.
Applicants must have a PhD and at least one year of postdoctoral experience with training in molecular microbiology. Experience with pathogenic bacteria, bioinformatics, proteomic and genomic data is desired.
