    概念解釋:當有不定量的東西或人時,我們說了一個,再說一個,那么,這“再一個”就用another;但當總共就兩個,或分成兩部分時,我們說了一個或一部分,再說另一個或另一部分,就用the other;other與名詞連用時,表示復數(shù)概念的“另外一些”,與another表示單數(shù)概念的“另外一個”形成單數(shù)和復數(shù)上的區(qū)別。

    Compromise(妥協(xié))
    Mr. Edwards and Mr. Wilson were friends. They were sitting in a train when another man came in. There was going to be an election(選舉) soon, and Mr. Edwards and Mr. Wilson began talking about politics(政治). Mr. Edwards supported(支持) the Labour Party(工黨) strongly(強烈地).
    Suddenly the third man began to argue with(與。。。爭論) Mr. Edwards. He supported the Conservatives(保守黨).
