本文是經(jīng)典愛情電影對白系列The Lake House(湖邊小屋，又叫“觸不到的戀人”)的第四段對白。
2006年的情人節(jié)，2月14日，Kate和媽媽在Daley廣場見面，此時的她并不知道，馬路的對面，Alex正凝望著她，多么想走近她……一陣刺耳的緊急剎車聲，一場車禍就在眼前。而kate還不知道死在她懷里的這個男人正是Alex……
此時的Kate已經(jīng)在芝加哥一家醫(yī)院實習，但她是寂寞的。似乎每個人都是寂寞的，她母親也是。母親說：自從父親逝去以后，對她來說，生活除了苦還是苦。但是她仍然保留了父親生前最愛讀的書，拿著這本書，好像父親就在身邊，翻開的還是那一頁，讀著的還是那段文字……
Kate：Sixty degrees on Valentine's Day. Can't be Chicago.
Kate's Mom：The TV says it's global warming. The icebergs start melting, water covers the Earth. Thank God we won't live to see it.
Kate：What's this?
Kate's Mom：That's nothing. It's one of your father's.
Kate：Dostoyevsky?
Kate's Mom：Oh, yeah. It's about a guy who breaks the neck of a poor woman with an axe and, so far, keeps wandering around regretting it. This is good.
Kate：Oh, yeah?
Kate's Mom：Yeah. Really good.
Kate's Mom：What are you thinking?
Kate：Nothing.
Kate's Mom：When your father passed away, it was hard. It still is hard. Holding his books, I feel like he's with me somehow knowing that he was once on the same pages, reading the same words.
passer-by：Oh, my God! Some body call an ambulance!
Kate：We need an ambulance at Daley Plaza. A man has been struck by a bus. Get an EMT crew here. Sir--
passer-by：Get out the street. Get on the sidewalk. On the sidewalk. Off the street. Get on the sidewalk! Get on the sidewalk!
