學(xué)校要switch traditional-bound textbook to eletronic textbook, for the cost of traditional textbooks are increasing, and make study more efficient, including highlightening texts and note taking.
Listening
女生反對(duì)，first, it wont save money, it may be broken down, or come up with new features, so the students may have to replace the old version maybe everyyear, which is costly. second, since the electornic device only has a little screen and small keypad, it may not be helpful and easy to conduct if someone’s hands are big.
Task 4
reading：swarm intelligence指的是動(dòng)物重復(fù)一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的動(dòng)作，從而達(dá)成一個(gè)很復(fù)雜的行為behavior.
listening: 用螞蟻為例，螞蟻會(huì)集體尋找食物food source，在途中會(huì)遇到obstacles，例如在樹上覓食，他們走到了end of a branch，但是這個(gè)branch之間有一個(gè)open space一個(gè)螞蟻過不去，所以螞蟻就抓住branch，然后把他的身體stretch到space中，然后一個(gè)個(gè)的重復(fù)這個(gè)動(dòng)作，最后到達(dá)另外一端。
Task 5
兩個(gè)教授對(duì)話：女：schedule conflict—— 一個(gè)poetry class，因?yàn)閷W(xué)生要考試了，她要給個(gè)review section;一個(gè)retirement party 兩件事都是四點(diǎn)開始。
解決方法：①(男建議)男教授的幫她代課，女的擔(dān)心可能對(duì)于男老師有點(diǎn)tough，因?yàn)槟欣蠋熀镁脹]教課了。
②(女自己建議)先去給學(xué)生上課再去party，但可能錯(cuò)過大部分party。
Task 6
city in ancient time 都是small scale，靠近river。原因：有自然障礙，如河流;人們不能住的遠(yuǎn)離clear water。但是roman 的城市發(fā)展的很大。原因使他們用了advanced technology。
①可以跨越自然障礙：building material 好。有concrete?？梢越驒M跨wide river 承受很大的負(fù)荷。
②可以遠(yuǎn)離水源：因?yàn)橛衱aterway 把水從山上引入城市。
