學校要switch traditional-bound textbook to eletronic textbook, for the cost of traditional textbooks are increasing, and make study more efficient, including highlightening texts and note taking.
Listening
女生反對，first, it wont save money, it may be broken down, or come up with new features, so the students may have to replace the old version maybe everyyear, which is costly. second, since the electornic device only has a little screen and small keypad, it may not be helpful and easy to conduct if someone’s hands are big.
Task 4
reading：swarm intelligence指的是動物重復一個簡單的動作，從而達成一個很復雜的行為behavior.
listening: 用螞蟻為例，螞蟻會集體尋找食物food source，在途中會遇到obstacles，例如在樹上覓食，他們走到了end of a branch，但是這個branch之間有一個open space一個螞蟻過不去，所以螞蟻就抓住branch，然后把他的身體stretch到space中，然后一個個的重復這個動作，最后到達另外一端。
Task 5
兩個教授對話：女：schedule conflict—— 一個poetry class，因為學生要考試了，她要給個review section;一個retirement party 兩件事都是四點開始。
解決方法：①(男建議)男教授的幫她代課，女的擔心可能對于男老師有點tough，因為男老師好久沒教課了。
②(女自己建議)先去給學生上課再去party，但可能錯過大部分party。
Task 6
city in ancient time 都是small scale，靠近river。原因：有自然障礙，如河流;人們不能住的遠離clear water。但是roman 的城市發(fā)展的很大。原因使他們用了advanced technology。
①可以跨越自然障礙：building material 好。有concrete?？梢越驒M跨wide river 承受很大的負荷。
②可以遠離水源：因為有waterway 把水從山上引入城市。
