Personal Statement Topic #1： 講一個(gè)故事，來(lái)說(shuō)明自己有多么在乎寫作（writing）和法律（law），并且說(shuō)一下自己是如何有責(zé)任心（responsible）——當(dāng)然，這些看起來(lái)很乏味。
Personal Statement Topic #2： 講一講自己是如何集一個(gè)頭腦靈活、善于分析（analytical）和體格健壯（athletic）、熱愛(ài)運(yùn)動(dòng)（runner）于一身的——這應(yīng)該聽(tīng)起來(lái)會(huì)更有趣，但好像還缺點(diǎn)意思 。

分析學(xué)校背后的動(dòng)機(jī)
首先，出于更好地衡量學(xué)生之前的學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷以及未來(lái)學(xué)習(xí)方向，引進(jìn)學(xué)校認(rèn)為更合適的學(xué)生入讀的目的。美國(guó)各個(gè)學(xué)校提高了入學(xué)門檻，審核趨于嚴(yán)格，部分學(xué)校和部分專業(yè)已經(jīng)明確學(xué)生需要提供PS。
一般情況下，學(xué)生需要提交的申請(qǐng)的必要材料分為兩大類：一是學(xué)術(shù)類：即在讀證明、畢業(yè)證、成績(jī)單、語(yǔ)言成績(jī)單等(雅思、托福等);二是身份類，即：護(hù)照、出生證明公證等。但如果學(xué)生尤其是申請(qǐng)碩士及更高學(xué)位的學(xué)生能提供導(dǎo)師的推薦信、實(shí)習(xí)證明、實(shí)習(xí)證明、簡(jiǎn)歷、學(xué)習(xí)計(jì)劃、PS等則更有助于申請(qǐng)。

而在簽證環(huán)節(jié)，則只是在學(xué)生出現(xiàn)特殊經(jīng)歷時(shí)需要補(bǔ)充PS來(lái)證明學(xué)生的真正目的是留學(xué)。書寫的內(nèi)容則多注重個(gè)人基本情況介紹，所受教育經(jīng)歷，工作經(jīng)歷，為什么選擇赴澳留學(xué)?為什么選擇該學(xué)校?為什么選擇該專業(yè)學(xué)習(xí)?學(xué)成后的計(jì)劃?等部分，總篇幅大約800-1000字。

Tianjin, China, my birth place and living city has always attracted me with her diverse cultures which endow me with rich cultural background. I remember during my childhood, I was very curious about different styles of buildings, when walking on the street with my mom. As I grew up, I got to know that among the first cities in China to open international trade, Tianjin has a long cultural history, in which Chinese culture mixes well with that of foreign countries. Here, local people are warm-hearted with mild characteristics and possess optimistic attitude towards life.
