帝國理工學院的歷史

Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering is one of three faculties within Imperial College London and is led by the Dean, Professor Jeff Magee FREng.
The Faculty seeks to provide international leadership in engineering research and education and is widely recognised as a world leading engineering school. Our departments consistently excel in prominent league table rankings, while the College as a whole enjoys similar success.

The Faculty is home to 1,575 staff (395 academics, over 800 researchers and 365 support staff) and 5,785 students (of whom over 1,200 are research students). The Faculty is a powerhouse in research across the engineering sciences, with research funding in excess of ￡100m per year.

Faculty of Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine is at the forefront of taking biomedical discoveries and translating them into the clinic - to the benefit of local patients and worldwide populations.
Our students benefit from our close connections with healthcare partners and multidisciplinary collaborations with the College's Faculties of Engineering, Natural Sciences and the Imperial College Business School. The Faculty of Medicine, in its current form, was established in August 1997 through a combination of major west London medical schools. The oldest of these, the Westminster, dates back to the eighteenth century when the system of medical training was not as formalised as it is today.

South Kensington Campus
South Kensington is our main campus and it is here that most undergraduate and postgraduate activity takes place. It's a compact site in the heart of 'Albertopolis' and is home to a huge range of architectural styles from the Edwardian Royal School of Mines building to the ultra-modern Norman Foster-designed Business School. There's plenty of green space too, including a beautiful landscaped square, with our famous Queen's Tower at one end.
Facilities on site include the Central Library, sports facilities, Imperial College Union, Student Hub (one-stop-shop for all key student services), catering outlets, health and dental surgery, Disability Advisory Service and Early Years.
Silwood Park Campus
Silwood Park is a postgraduate campus of Imperial College London, located 25 miles west of central London in the village of Sunninghill near Ascot. A global centre for research and teaching in ecology, evolution, and conservation, Silwood provides modern academic buildings, laboratories and greenhouses, set in 100 ha of parkland where long-term ecological field experiments are conducted.
This site is a portal for those wanting to find out more about the diverse range of research activities and opportunities that Silwood has to offer.
White City Campus
Imperial’s research has led to some of the most important discoveries and technological advances of the past century, from penicillin to fibre optics. At White City, we’re leading a ￡2 billion investment in a new 23-acre campus to continue pioneering ways of seeing and shaping the world.
Multidisciplinary research facilities are opening on the northern section of the site, alongside space for businesses, accommodation for postgraduate students and a residential building. We’re also developing proposals for the southern part, which will include more academic hubs and facilities for commercial and research partners.
The campus will be part of the local community, making a positive impact in local education, enterprise, employment and healthcare. It will be a lively and inclusive place, where our partners, neighbours and visitors can come and share in the wonder and practical applications of science.
