SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are a type of financial aid that do not need to be repaid. The eligibility requirements and amounts awarded vary. Generally scholarships can range from Need-Based to Merit-Based awards:
Need-Based: Eligibility is determined by a review of the students/families finances. Generally the results the FAFSA application are used to determine a student's "financial need".
Merit-Based: Eligibility can range from a student's academic, artistic, or athletic accomplishments (not limited to theses categories). In most cases, a student's "financial need" will not play a part in determining a student's eligibility.
Temple University offers incoming and continuing undergraduate students numerous scholarship opportunities to assist you in financing your education. In addition, each school and college offers scholarships specifically for students enrolled in their programs. In most cases, students must be enrolled full-time and seeking a degree in order to qualify for theses scholarships.
Unless otherwise noted, international students and immigrants are eligible for most Temple-sponsored scholarships. Please be sure to check with your Temple University school or college for additional scholarship opportunities.

CONTINUING STUDENTS
Academic Merit Scholarships
Eligibility
Scholarships are renewable for up to four continuous years for freshman (accepted for fall 2016 and prior terms) and three continuous years for transfer students while maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA and full-time enrollment (at least 12 credits per term).
Students that do not meet the eligibility requirements will no longer qualify for the academic merit scholarship. The scholarship cannot be reinstated once lost.
Specific details may be provided in the student's scholarship notification letter from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Amount
Academic merit scholarships range from $1000 to full tuition.
Application/selection
Academic merit scholarships are awarded by the Office of Undergraduate Admission at the time of admission and annually reviewed for renewal after the summer term(s) grades are posted.

Eligibility
U.S. citizens who:

Amount
Tuition scholarships are for $9,000, $15,000 or full tuition plus an annual stipend of $3,000 and $255 per semester for books for two- (sophomores), three- (freshman), or four-year (for entering students) scholarships. Four-year scholarship winners are also eligible to receive a $2,500 payment for room and board.
Application/selection
Students interest in four-year awards must apply by December 1 of the year before they intend to enter the university. Applicants will be interviewed and winners will be notified by June 1.
Two- and three-year scholarship applicants can apply beginning in January, with notifications sent in May.

The scholarship will continue for a second and final year if the student maintains a minimum cumulative science GPA of 3.0 and maintains academic progress toward degree (minimum of 24 completed credits during junior year)

Eligibility
The Elmer Roe Deaver Foundation is providing scholarships for descendants of employees of Quaker City Life Insurance Company, including spouses and dependent children. A dependent child is defined as a natural, adopted, or resident step child.
Application/selection
The Center for Scholarship Administration, Inc. (CSA), a non-profit, independent organization is the facilitator of the program. All requests for scholarship assistance must be submitted directly to the CSA before June 15 of each year.

Eligibility
Must be enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at Temple University in a degree-seeking program

Must demonstrate high personal character, academic ability and achievement
Amount
The annual scholarship amount varies annually. All scholarship funds will be sent directly to the Bursar's Office to disburse to student accounts. The scholarship is non-renewable, however current recipients may reapply and be considered in competition with new applicants.

The Henrietta S. Treen scholarship is providing scholarships for deserving students. The Center for Scholarship Administration, Inc. (CSA), a non-profit, independent organization is the facilitator of the program.
Application Process:
Set-up an online account, www.csascholars.org.
Login to the online account and complete the Henrietta S. Treen scholarship application (Once you have done this you will get an email back confirming CSA received the online portion of the application and a reminder to complete step 3).
Mail in all additional required materials no later than March 13, 2017.
Deadline for Submission:
Applicants must submit the requested information via the website and by mail. All additional items must be received no later than 5pm EST March 13, 2017. No exceptions will be made to the deadline.

DIVISION OF ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN SCHOLARSHIPS
Graduate students in the Division of Architecture and Environmental Design (Architecture, Landscape Architecture and City & Regional Planning) are automatically considered for departmental scholarships.

The Odili Donald Odita Scholarship in Painting
The Odili Donald Odita Scholarship in Painting was established through the generous support of The Ronald and Jo Carole Lauder Foundation. The scholarship will provide a one-year tuition scholarship for an MFA student in Painting with financial need. Recipients may retain this scholarship for up to two years provided they maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or above. All accepted students who have not received University funding in the form of a Temple University Fellowship or a Temple University Future Faculty Fellowship will be eligible for consideration.
