International Residence
Chuo University opened its International Residence in Hino, Tokyo in 2011, as part of the University’s efforts to promote internationalization. Not only new students but also already-enrolled students, privately funded international students, and international exchange students live together in an international residence with a total of 64 private rooms and communal living spaces, where they communicate with one another and develop international perspectives. In addition, an international exchange residence with 94 all-in-one private rooms was opened in 2012. Both residences are designed for students to cook for themselves, and enable students to support each other, enrich their knowledge and broaden their perspectives (both have a resident house manager on call).

Shared Kitchen and Dining Facilities
The residence has a communal kitchen with the latest IH cookware, dishes and fridges. Computers, televisions and DVD players are available for shared use as well.
The shared dining room can be used for meetings and dinners of up to 20 people.
There are shower rooms and laundry facilities (washing machines and dryers), as well as individual postboxes located nearby where students can collect their mail.
With a resident house manager, students can feel safe and at home.

Private Rooms
The residence has a total of 64 private rooms arranged in suites of three rooms each. Rooms are equipped with small fridges, beds, desks, lighting, air conditioners, and internet access. For safety and enhanced privacy, each student has an electronic card-key for his or her own room. Through windows in each room, you can enjoy views of the surrounding lush greenery and live comfortably. Each suite is furnished with a toilet, shoe cupboard, and storage space.
There is a wide wooden deck in front of the residence where students can use the space freely.

The Co-op is an organization run with union fees collected from members to serve the students and university personnel.
The Co-op shops sell necessities such as books, stationery supplies, and computers, and also provides a wide range of services including domestic and international travel arrangements, tickets, bookings for driving schools, and mutual society insurance.

Dining Facilities
On the Tama Campus there are dining facilities on every floor of the Hilltop ’78 building. The cafeteria building offers a diverse selection of foods, such as Japanese and Western foods, noodles, coffee and tea, and fast food.
There is also the Basu-Tei restaurant, which serves mainly Chinese food, and the Leaf café in the C Square Building serves light meals and beverages. The Co-op operates canteens at the Korakuen Campus as well.

Health Management
To conform with the School Health Law, the University provides regular health examinations for students at the beginning of every April. As it is very important that students have their health checked every year, this presents an excellent opportunity for students to receive an annual health examination.
For prevention or early detection of disease or illness, further tests, including ultra-sound and electrocardiogram, are available should the results of the student"s regular health examination show the need. If more detailed examination is necessary, the student will be referred to a specialist. The Health Center also provides counseling for students in need of advice on illness, disease, diet, or other health-related issues.

Medical Services
The Health Center offers medical examination primarily for internal medicine, as well as first-aid treatment for external injuries and referral to specialists. Costs for medical care are not covered by health insurance programs. However, costs related to medical treatment are based on standards set by the University, with costs for medication being comparable to those covered by health insurance, and fees for examination being half those charged under health insurance coverage. These are some of the ways the burden of medical costs is less for students.

Other Services
For students who have had a regular health examination, the Center provides special health examinations should they be required for classes. The Center issues, upon request, a certificate of health needed for obtaining full-time employment, a scholarship, or part-time work, or participating in a sports event, in addition to providing tests for such things as measuring body fat proportion. The Health Center provides health-related information to the students through its website and paper magazine.
