over做介詞表“超過”時，可用more than代替。
例：he has stayed here over a year.
= he has stayed here more than a year.
(他已待在此地一年多。)
he has stayed here more than over a year.(x)
he has stayed here much over a year.(×，much應(yīng)刪除)
over five students are here.
= more than five students are here.
(這里的學(xué)生有五人以上。)
