Today is Arbor-Day. Our school arranged us to go to the near hills to plant trees. We start at seven o’clock in the morning. It took us half an hour to get to the destination. The moment we arrived, we began to work as arranged before. Some dug holes, some put trees in the hole, some put the earth back to the hole, while others watered the trees. When we planted all the trees, it’s already one o’clock in the afternoon. We were all hungry and tired but happy and proud.

International Women's Day, originally called International Working Women's Day, is marked on March 8 every year, which is a holiday for women in the whole world. Different nations or regions have different celebrations towards this holiday, but their purpose is common, namely appreciating for women's economic, political and social achievements. China started to commemorate this day since 1922, and the first mass commemoration activity was held in Guangzhou in 1924. In December 1949, the Central People's Government Administration Council formally announced for the Women's Day on March 8. With Opening up and progress of society, women are playing an increasingly important role in all fields. We can see their great achievements everywhere. Therefore, this is a day to protect the rights and interests of women as well as praise them outstanding contributions.

I usually have a lot of things to do after work. Every day after I come home, I always read some English passages, in order to improve my spoken English and feel the charm of language. After doing that, I surf the Internet to watch the latest news and find some useful information for my work. I think this is an effective way for me to learn more knowledge and widen my horizon. Then I begin to learn English by listening to VOA and BBC. There are so many interesting stories in these programs. And the hostesses are very excellent. I can always sleep well with their beautiful voices. At weekend, I usually have a get-together with my close friends to share our life experience. Sometimes we also go out for a walk, so as to enjoy our beautiful nature. In short, I usually arrange a lot of activities for myself in my free time, because I want to make my life more wonderful and interesting.
