Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, it is my great pleasure to givemy topic with you.Eh, I am just a little nervous right now. And I usually singa song when I feel nervous. So would you mind me singing a song? Of coursenot!(sing the song…) Did I sing well?Okay, thank you. Do you like this piece of music? Yes or no? By the way, do youknow the name of the song? Who can tell me? ---Yep! You are right! The name ofthe song is Imagine me without you. As for me, I can’t imagine mewithout English in my life. Why? Please wait a moment. You will get the answerfrom the following content. Let’s back to our topic.
As we all know, English is an international language. I am 14years old now and I’ve learnt English for 9 years. It has become a part of mylife. I think English is not only important but also very useful to me.
I have never thought that, I would pay such more attention tolearning English because when I was six, I always got bad marks at school and Icould not figure out the letters “ R” and “K”。 Yeah, that is impossible.
One day, my mom came to school and took me home and she saw theletters on the blackboard. She pointed to “R” and asked me “What is this?”---“R”。 “And what about this one”? Shepointed to “K”。---“R”! I answered. “Are you sure?”---“Yep, mummy, They are thesame!” I said confidently! My mom shook her head with an upset face. She was sodisappointed with me. From then on, she tried to use many different ways inorder to improve myEnglish, such as inviting the private teachers with high salary; findingforeign teachers online; buying lots of English books or encouraging me toenter different English competitions and so on. And I also worked very hard. Igot up early every morning to read English books aloud and had English classesfor hours. Sometimes I felt really tiredand I had no progress. I felt frustrated! Luckily, my mum is always with me! She wanted me tolearn everything happily but not with lots of pressure. She tried to make me relax. It was a kindof logical game. Would you like to have a try? Follow me, please! Raise yourhands up. This is a gun in my left hand and there are four birds in my righthand. Now I need to exchange them like this. Try to do it as fast as you can! Canyou do it? Well, maybe it is a little difficult at first. So did I. So I triedit patiently and carefully again and again. You see, I can do it as fast as Ican now. I think the way to learn English is still the same. After adifficult training time, I found that: the more English I’ve learnt patiently, the more confidence I’ve got and the more interested I was in learning English.
I am an outgoing girl. I love to explore and know more about theworld. I have some friends from different countries. At first, I could not followthem clearly. But they were friendly. They treated me as a member of theirfamily. We could play jokes to each other or share something interestingtogether. I remembered one day I had mentioned to my American teacher that Ihad a fight with my friend and I felt left behind. She stopped for a moment andsaid: “It doesn’t matter. I am always with you.” At that time I felt reallywarm. Sometimes I talk with my friends on Skype and some of them on QQ. And oneof my friend came from Philippines had asked me to give him the QQ red bag.Very interesting, right?
During the time when I learn English, I understand a point clearlythat is “Learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can. Therewill always come a time you will be grateful you did.” We should always insiston what we are seeking. I wouldn’t give up learning English. Thanks for your listening.

Good morning everyone. My name is YangXinyun. You can call me Sunny, too. I’m a 13-year-old girl and I’m from Guilin Howell School. Today my topic isthe story between English and me.
Now as we all know, there are six officiallanguages of the United Nations. And English is one of them. Certainly it isvery important and useful. We can talk to the foreign people when we can speakEnglish very well. But everyone knows it is always difficult to learn somethingat the beginning. Just like learning English.
I started to learn English in Grade 2. First,I don’t like English. Because it’s really difficult for me to write, speak and remember. So I always get the worst marks in my class.
Until one day, my dad asked me a strangequestion, “What is your favourite thing?” I said, “I like my guitar. And I likedrawing pictures. I also like going out to play with Lisa.” (Lisa is my bestfriend.) Then he said, “What about English?” “I don’t like it at all.” Ianswered. My dad was very strict but also very patient, “My dear daughter, ifyou still don’t like English, you will never get a chance to learn more byEnglish, such as your music and your art.” I was afraid about that coming day. Andmy dad said, “So making a friend with English will make you happy. Trust me!” Ithought maybe my dad is right.
Then I came to Howell. It’s really a goodplace for learning. I played games and sang English songs with other classmatesin Howell. I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colourfuldream in my English world. Every day, I read English following the tapes.Sometimes, our teachers showed us cartoons. Certainly, I remembered and usedthe English words and phrases every day. I have been work harder and harder.
And now I can speak English well and alwaysget the best marks. I am happy. Because I did it better. I also have many problems. There are so many differences between English and Chinese. For example, when wemake a phone call, in Chinese we say, “I’m Sunny.” But in English we say, “Thisis Sunny.” If we can remember the differences we will be strong and powerful inEnglish. That’s exciting.
English is always my best friend and it hasbeen a part of my life. In the future, I am going to study inAustralia. Iwill learn English well and introduce my country well. It will be wonderful. Ibelieve that as I love English more, it will love me more, as well.
    篇三
Good afternoon! My name is Alice. Today I will tell you a story about my pet.
My pet, named Diandian, is a white cat with two black spots on its forehead. I brought it into my family from a street-side market two years ago. At that time, it looked small and thin. I fed it with milk and cat food. With time going, Diandian grew up, and we became good friends. Every afternoon when I was back from school, it always welcomed me on the doorway.
The most interesting thing was to play games with Diandian in my spare time. We played hide-and-seek. I hid myself hehind the door, then put my hand out of the doorframe to grasp Diandian’s eyes. While it saw my hand, Diandian first stared at my hand for a moment, and then jumped high to catch. Of course, I draw back my hand very quickly. I won the game every time. Diandian never succeeded, but never gave up.
Diandian was like a naughty boy. It always ran up and down, jumping from floor to chair, and to tabletop. Sometimes, it broke glass, vase and even goldfish vat. When summer coming, Diandian lost hair heavily. The small white hair is not easy to clean. All these made my mother unhappy.
On last summer holiday, we visited my grandma in Jiangsu Province taking with Diandian. My mother decided to leave Diandian there. I felt sadly without Diandian. I often called my grandma to know how it was going. Diandian learnt new knowledges there, like climbing tree, eating real fish and so on. Afterwards, grandma told me that Diandian was lost. We don’t know where it is now. I miss Diandian very much. I hope it is still alive.
    Thank you!
