英語四級語法用法辨析：onto 與 on to 的用法區(qū)別
1. 兩者都用作介詞，合寫一詞的 onto 在意上相當于 to+on，即表示某物向另一物運動(to)，然后停落在另一物之上(on)。使用時兩者常可換用。如：
He jumped onto [on to] the horse. 他跳上馬。
He put the dictionary onto [on to] the desk. 他把字典放到桌上。
2. 以下情況的 on to 不能合寫為一詞(onto)：
(1) on 為副詞時。如：
We must walk on to the next village. 我們必須繼續(xù)走路去下一個村莊。
Pass this on to the next person after signing it. 簽名之后請把它傳給下一位。
(2) on 后的 to 為不定式符號時。如：
He went on to tell us an interesting story. 接著他給我們講了個有趣的故事。
He had to hang on to avoid being washed overboard. 為了不至于被沖入水里，他只好緊緊抓住不放。
