in case用作副詞性短語
in case用作副詞時，其意為“以防萬一”。如：
Better take an umbrella in case. 帶把傘，以防下雨。
The dog was chained, but I carried a stick in case. 狗是用鏈條鎖住的，但我?guī)е桓髯右苑廊f一。
注：
in case的副詞性用法，可視為其后省略了一個目的狀語從句，其意為表示“以防有什么情況”。如：
The sun is shining, but I'll take an umbrella just incase (it should rain). 現在是晴天，但我還是帶上雨傘以防萬一。
The bus is usually on time, but start early, just in case (you are late). 公共汽車一般是準時的，但還是早一點走好，以防有什么情況。
