英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ):接下來(lái)的24小時(shí),我的回答全是:NO

字號(hào):

想象一下,在接下來(lái)的24小時(shí)里,無(wú)論別人對(duì)你有什么要求你的回答都是no...
    Mastering the Power of "No" 掌握“不”的力量
    Chance教授說(shuō):
    “When we make a request, we focus on what it would cost the person to say yes to us, but when someone asks something of us, we focus on what it would cost to say ‘no.’"當(dāng)我們向別人提出需求時(shí),通常都會(huì)考慮假如對(duì)方說(shuō)yes后所付出的代價(jià);而當(dāng)別人向自己提出要求時(shí),我們又往往只考慮自己說(shuō)no之后所付出的的代價(jià)。
    沒(méi)有一個(gè)學(xué)生完成了這個(gè)24小時(shí)的實(shí)驗(yàn),因?yàn)樗麄円呀?jīng)習(xí)慣了脫口而出“YES”,哪怕自己的大腦已經(jīng)在不斷提醒:你已經(jīng)沒(méi)有空余時(shí)間再接其它的活兒了!
    不過(guò),在24小時(shí)之后,大家對(duì)于“NO”的看法也完全不同了。
    Make "No" Your Default 讓“不”成為默認(rèn)答案
    NO的好處是:Freedom自由。
    Chance教授說(shuō),NO比YES更適合做“默認(rèn)答案”,原因如下:
    1. "No" is easy to retract. "Yes" is hard to renege. 由“不”變“是”容易,而由“是”變“不”卻很難;
    2. "No" affirms you know your limits. “不”證明你知道自己的底線;
    3. "No" allows you the benefit of more time to think about how you feel about the request. “不”可以讓你有更充裕的時(shí)間去考慮最合適的選擇;
    4. "No" demonstrates self-discipline. “不”更強(qiáng)調(diào)了自我約束。
    "No" is the Best Response You Have 說(shuō)“不”是的回答
    Chance教授指出,其實(shí)說(shuō)“NO”比一些模棱兩可的詞,諸如 “Maybe” 或者 “I am thinking about it” 更讓人感覺(jué)禮貌。特別是在下面的幾種情況下:
    1. When someone is trying to sell you something. 當(dāng)別人向你推銷你不想要的東西時(shí)。
    2. When you’re presented with an opportunity that you’re not sure is right for you. 當(dāng)擺在你面前的責(zé)任是你自己都不知道是否承擔(dān)的起時(shí)。
    3. When you don’t feel right about something. 當(dāng)你感覺(jué)事態(tài)發(fā)展不對(duì)勁時(shí)。
    How "No" Makes "Yes" Better “不”讓“是”更美好
    當(dāng)你一直說(shuō)“YES”的時(shí)候,別人會(huì)把它當(dāng)成理所當(dāng)然。假如哪天突然說(shuō)“NO”,反而會(huì)使人接受不了;
    而當(dāng)你習(xí)慣了說(shuō)“NO”,別人會(huì)在你說(shuō)“YES”的時(shí)候更加尊重和信賴你的意見(jiàn)。
