Small talk在北美非常普遍。即使陌生人之間，在很多情況下，也要寒暄閑聊幾句：

Neighbors 鄰居
……

#1 怎么打招呼？
最經典:
(Good) Morning, afternoon
Good evening
注意: 前者母語者常常省略good，語氣更加輕松一些。不過后者不可以省略
最地道:
Hi there!
How is it going?
What's up?
注意: What's up?非常不正式，是年輕人喜歡的俚語。
怎么回復？
Good. 挺好的
Not bad. 不錯
So far so good. 到目前為止還不錯
什么場合用：

小tip:small talk一般不涉及到你生活的細節(jié)，所以如果有什么委屈事還是留給家人朋友：
Keep it positive. 只談好事。

雖然聊天氣沒新意，但的確還是最自然、最容易入手的話題！
怎么聊？
Depending on the weather, make appropriate comments: 根據當天的天氣，聊對應的
Nice weather 如果是好天

The weather sucks.
注意: suck這個詞不太得體的，只能和很熟悉的人說。

除了簡單的問侯、天氣，還可以稍微深入一些：

怎么回復：
It's a busy day.

如果想更有新意，著裝是個不錯的話題！
怎么聊:
Nice shoes/shirt/dress！

Where did you get it? 你哪里買的？
You look great today!（如果對方換了造型，這句很合適。但也要小心，因為如果對方沒什么變化，這樣說可能讓人感覺你認為他平時很邋遢。）
