It was Sunday. I never get up early on Sundays.
I sometimes stay in bed until lunchtime.
Last Sunday I got up very late.

It was my Aunt Lucy.' I've just arrived by train,' she said.

'I go to work by bus every day,' Pam said.
'I don't like being late, so I leave home around 8 o'clock every day.
The bus journey usually takes about twenty minutes, but it can take a bit longer.'
She checked her mobile phone.
They were no new messages.
'Anywhy' she said, 'I'm always at work by a quarter to nine.
I like being early. I'm always the first person in the office in the morning.'
She took a mirrior from her handbag and smiled at her reflection.
'The boss is always late,' she continued.
'He comes to work by car, but he's never in office before 10 o'clock.'
She took a lipstick out of her bag.
'The boss's secretary takes her daughter to school before work, so she usually arrives at 9.50,' she continued.
'Mr. Jones frequently goes home early.'
Pam concentrated on her lipstick.
'And Miss White...' Pam shut the lipstick case with a snap.
'Miss White sometimes has two hours for lunch.'
Pam put her bag down and looked at me.
'A friend asked me yesterday,' she said, '"How many people work in your office?"
Do you know what I said? I said, "About half of them!"'
