On May 23, US President Barack Obama announced the United States is lifting a decades-long arms embargo on Vietnam during his visit to the country. Obama also made it clear that the US may sell weapons to Vietnam on a case-by-case basis. The US first imposed an arms embargo on northern Vietnam in 1964 during the Vietnam War.
5月23日，美國總統(tǒng)奧巴馬在訪問越南期間宣布，美國將解除對越南長達(dá)數(shù)十年的武器禁運(yùn)。奧巴馬同時(shí)表示，美國向越南出售的武器將進(jìn)行逐項(xiàng)審批。1964年越南戰(zhàn)爭期間，美國首次開始實(shí)施對越南的武器禁運(yùn)。
