Direction of public opinion
On Feb 19, President Xi Jinping presided over a symposium stressing the Party media’s responsibility to guide the public opinion after visiting People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency and China Central Television. Xi said that Party’s media should set the direction of public opinion, serve the county’s overall interests, unite the general public and connect China to the world. Xi also showed interest in the emerging new media and called for media innovation.
2月19日，國家主席習近平在新華社、人民日報、中央電視臺調研后，主持召開黨的新聞輿論工作座談會并發(fā)表重要講話，強調了黨媒在引導輿論導向上的重要責任。習近平指出，黨媒要為公眾輿論建立正確方向，以國家整體利益為工作中心，團結群眾，加強中國與世界的聯(lián)系。習近平同時對新興媒體表現(xiàn)出了濃厚興趣，號召實現(xiàn)新媒體創(chuàng)新。
