father, further都可以是far的比較級(jí)，意為“較遠(yuǎn)、更遠(yuǎn)”，但further除此之外，還有“更進(jìn)一步，此外的”等意思，既可以作形容詞，也可以作副詞。如：
    ① They made further arrangement. 他們作了進(jìn)一步的安排。
    ② I may be able to give you some further information about it. 關(guān)于這件事，我可以提供另外一些信息。
    ③ She didn’t argue further about it. 她對(duì)此不再爭(zhēng)論了。
