第55課 出生地
A:Wang, if you don't mind my asking. Where were you born?
A：王，你不介意我問一下你的出生地吧？
B:I was born and grow up in Beijing.
B：我出生在北京，并且在那里長大的。
A:You are a native of Beijing and where are your family from?
A：你是北京人，你的籍貫是哪里？
B:You mean, where are my ancestors from? They are from Jiangxi. Which country are you from?
B：你是想問我的祖籍是哪里？我祖輩來自江西。你是哪國人？
A:I am from the United States.
A：我是美國人。
B:Where in the America are you from?
B：你是美國哪里的？
A:I'm from Texas. That's in the south.
A：是得克薩斯州，在美國南方。
B:Yes, I've heard of it.
B：哦，我聽說過那里。
A:Have you really?
A：真的嗎？
B:Sure, ifs former President George W Bush's hometown, Midland, Texas. It's quite famous.The Bush family moved to Midland in the 1950s to take advantage of one of the town's oil booms.The Bush family left Midland for Houston in 1959. but George W. Bush moved back to the city in the mid-1970s to get his start in the booming oil town.
B：當然，得州米德蘭是美國前總統(tǒng)小布什的老家，很有名的。布什一家50年代趁著當?shù)厥凸I(yè)繁榮的勢頭舉家搬遷到米德蘭，在1959年又遷居到休斯敦。但是小布什又在70年代中期返回了米德蘭，在這個繁榮的石油城開始了他的事業(yè)。

B:You are flattering me. Can you speak Chinese?

A:Yes, I have been learning Chinese for three years. But I can speak only a little.

A：你多久回老家？
B:Once or twice a year.
B：每年一兩次。
A:Does your family still live there?
A：你的家人還住在那里嗎？
B:Yes.all my immediate family live there.
B：是的，我的直系親屬都住在那里。
A:You must be really lonely here then.
A：那么你在這里一定很孤獨吧。
B:You can say that again. But I came here with big dreams.
B：你說是沒錯。但我是帶著夢想來的。
