    B: I don't know. I had to give up my hope of being a mathematician. My college days are over and I have to be realistic about myself.

    A: What is that?

    B: My grades in math weren't high enough. I couldn't live up to the goals my parents set for me.

    A: You did well in college. I don't think you let your parents down.

    A: Why don't you tell them what you'd like to be?

    B: Perhaps I will. I used to want to be a teacher. I think my parents would like that.
