I distinctly remember a story shown on TV that was repeated every year around Christmas Time when I was young. Christmas is a magical time of the year, so I always put extra emphasis on watching my favourite TV shows at that time of year. The story I loved most is named The Snowman. It was first released as a cartoon comic book without any words or dialogue, then re-released as a short children’s film, again with no speech but with a beautiful – now very famous – soundtrack to bring it to life. 中文：我清楚地記得在我還小的時(shí)候每年圣誕節(jié)都會(huì)重播的一個(gè)故事。圣誕節(jié)是一年中一個(gè)神奇的時(shí)刻，所以我總是要看我最喜歡的電視節(jié)目。我最喜歡的故事叫雪人。這個(gè)故事最開(kāi)始發(fā)布在卡通書(shū)上，沒(méi)有文字也沒(méi)有對(duì)話。后來(lái)做成一部?jī)和唐?，依舊沒(méi)有臺(tái)詞，但是有當(dāng)時(shí)非常好聽(tīng)，現(xiàn)在非常有名電影配樂(lè)，讓整個(gè)故事在銀幕上栩栩如生。
The story features a young British boy of about ten, who wakes up one morning to find that it has snowed heavily overnight. He rushes out to play in the snow, and after one day’s work, has himself a wonderful snowman. The boy wakes up in the middle of the night, goes downstairs and watches his snowman come to life at the stroke of midnight. The pair quickly become good friends. They play in the house, ride a motorbike outdoors and then the Snowman flies the boy to the North Pole, where they join a party and meet Father Christmas.

The Snowman became a major element of my childhood. The short animation became synonymous with the coming of the festive season for me. The particular illustration was inextricably linked with that specific time of year, and many of the images from the film are still etched on my brain.
