  1.aggression: (名)侵略the first step in an attack or a quarrel   We need a self-defense posture to defer the possible aggression.   我們必須要有自御條件防御可能的侵略。   2.agitate:   (1)(動)擾亂.excite; move violently   We thought that the bad news would upset Tom, but it didn’t seem to agitate him.   我們認為這個壞消息會困擾湯姆,但它似乎并沒有擾亂到他。   (2)(動)搖擺.move or shake vigorously   The slightest wind agitates the leaves of the trees.   極輕的風(fēng)使樹上的葉子擺動起來。   3.architect: (名)建筑師builder; planner; constructor   We employed an architect to design our summer house.   我們請了建筑師來設(shè)計我們的夏季小屋。   4.bond:    (1).(名)結(jié)合anything that joins or keeps together   There is a close bond of affection between the two sisters.   在這姐妹之間有很深的感情。   (2)(名)合同;契約.a written agreement or promise, usually about money   He is so honest that his spoken promise is as good as a bond.   他非常誠實,所以口頭應(yīng)允也如同契約般可信。   5.dominate:(動)支配 control, govern, or rule; have authority or influence over   The chairman’s strong will dominated the committee, which did what he wanted without arguing.   主席堅強的意志支配著此委員會,使其做優(yōu)秀任何他想做的而無爭議。   6.integrate: (動)合而為一bring together to form a whole   He integrated ideas from several philosophers into his own philosophy.   他把數(shù)位哲學(xué)家的哲學(xué)和他自己的哲學(xué)合而為一。   7.publicity:(名)出風(fēng)頭 the state or fact of being known to the public   His rescue of the child from the burning house brought him much publicity.   他從火場救出小孩子的義舉使他大出風(fēng)頭。   8.rely:(動)信賴;依賴 trust; confide in; depend on   Send the boy to the bank for money; we can rely on him.   讓這個男孩去銀行提錢,我們能信賴他。   9.retract: (1)(動)縮回.draw in; draw back   A cat can retract its claws, but a dog cannot.   貓可以縮回它的爪子,但是狗不能   。   (2)(動)收回(聲明、承諾).take back; withdraw   You can depend on Frank. Once he has given his promise, he will not retract it.   你可以信任法蘭克,一旦他已立下承諾,就不會再收回。   10.unify: (動)使統(tǒng)一make into one   We should make every effort to unify China.   我們應(yīng)該盡全力使中國統(tǒng)一。   11.frivolous:   (1)(形)愚蠢的;可笑的.silly or amusing, especially when such behavior is not suitable   Sorry, I was being frivolous.   對不起,我失態(tài)了。   (2)(形)無聊的;不嚴肅的.having no useful or serious purpose   We killed our time by those frivolous pastimes.   我們通過無聊的消遣打發(fā)時間表。   12.divulge: (動)泄漏;透露(秘密)to give somebody information that is supposed to be secret; reveal   Police refused to divulge the identity of the suspect.   警方拒絕透露嫌疑犯的身份。
