可是等小公雞帶著水趕來時(shí)，小母雞已經(jīng)躺在那兒一動(dòng)不動(dòng)，——噎死了。
小公雞悲傷地放聲痛哭，其他動(dòng)物紛紛出來表示哀悼。最后，小公雞挖了個(gè)墓穴，將小母雞埋了，自己則坐在墓冢上悲傷不已。
