The park that left a deep impression on me isthe Ocean Park in Hong Kong. I went there lastsummer with my parents and I was told it’s thelargest theme park in Asia. It’s more than just anoceanarium. To be exact, it’s a combination of an animal theme park and an amusementpark. We spent a whole day there but still didn’t have enough time to try all the facilities.
The Ocean Park has a long history, the guide told us it was first built in 1970s, and thegovernment has invested a huge amount of money over the years. Now the park has two mainareas separated by a large mountain, and tourists can take cable cars to get around.
What appealed to me most were the various attractions and rides, like roller coasters, andanimal exhibits with different themes. I heard they have four roller coasters, but we didn’t havetime to experience them all, ‘cause you know, there was a long line of people in front of everyone of them.
We also went to the Polar Adventure section where I saw a bunch of adorable penguins andarctic foxes. And the Grand Aquarium was even more fantastic. When we were strollingthrough the underwater tunnel, there were performers dressed as mermaids to entertainpeople. And there was a male mermaid waving at us and doing lots of hilarious movements, which really cracked me up.
Anyway, my trip to the Ocean Park was really memorable.
