The tides rises,the tide falls,
    The twilight darkens, the curlew calls;
    Along the sea-sands damp and brown
    The traveller hastens toward the town,
    And the tide rises, the tide falls.
    Darkness setttles on roofs and walls,
    But the sea, the sea in the darkness calls;
    The little waves,with their soft, white hands,
    And the tide rises,the tide falls.
    The morning breaks, the steeds in their stalls
    Stamp ande neigh, as the hostler calls;
    The day returns, but nevermore
    Returns the traveller to the shore,
    And the tide reses, the tide falls.

    潮起，潮落
    暮色漸濃,鳥鳴陣陣;
    潮濕、灰褐的沙灘上，
    是旅人趕往城鎮(zhèn)匆忙的身影。

    黑暗籠上了屋頂和墻垣，
