1.分句法
把原文中一個(gè)單詞或短語(yǔ)譯成句子，使原文的一個(gè)句子分譯成兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上的句子。或干脆把原文的一個(gè)句子拆開(kāi)，譯成兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上的句子。
例1：八月中旬，修理組人員在驕陽(yáng)下工作。
譯文: It was in mid-August, and the repair section operated under the blazing sun.(一個(gè)單句拆分成了一個(gè)并列復(fù)合句)
例2：他為人單純而坦率。
譯文: He was very clean. His mind was open. (一個(gè)單句拆分成兩個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單句了)
例3：The mother might have spoken with understandable pride of her child.
譯文: 母親談到她的孩子時(shí)，也許有自豪感，這是可以理解的。(形容詞被拆開(kāi))
例4： I wrote four books in the first three years ,a record never touched before.
譯文: 我頭三年寫(xiě)了四本書(shū)，打破了以往的記錄。(名詞短語(yǔ)拆開(kāi))
2.合句法
把原文中兩個(gè)或以上的簡(jiǎn)單句，主從復(fù)合句或并列復(fù)合句等譯成一個(gè)單句。
例5：她已試了好幾次，要幫他們另找一所出租的房子，結(jié)果并未成功。
譯文:She had made several attempts to help them find other rental quarters without success.(多個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單句合成一個(gè)單句)
例6：他們有遵守交通規(guī)則，機(jī)器出了故障。
譯文：His failure to observe the safety regulations resulted in an accident to the machinery.(并列復(fù)合句合成一個(gè)單句)
例7 ：When we praise the Chinese leadership and the people, we are not merely being polite.
譯文：我們對(duì)中國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人和中國(guó)人民的贊揚(yáng)不僅僅是出于禮貌。(主從復(fù)合句合成一個(gè)單句)
